Breathe
Travel is not just a treat
for eyes, but also a treatment for your soul.
No picture can recreate
the goose bumps on your arms like the first time you see the Luberon
Valley from a hot air balloon, or send chills up your spine like the
first time you drive around a corner and see a 400-year-old-castle
perched over a lazy river. (The driver of the vehicle and the 5
people who slammed on the breaks behind her we're not hurt).
Nor can a photo recreate
the smell of baked bread being pulled out of a Tuscan oven, or the sound
of sizzling duck fat in a tiny Dordogne village (audio scratch-and-sniff
gift packs available soon).
For us, the journey is
about the total experience; the engagement of all your senses to take a
picture that will last a lifetime. not only in your photo album, but
also deep in your heart and soul.
Close your eyes and
breathe deeply. The photo won't last forever, but the experience
will.
Beijing - 2008 Olympics - by David
Kao
Beijing will host the 2008 Olympics and I am really interested to see how they are going to handle the traffic, people etc.
The city is definitely bigger than I remembered it! it took me a while to find my bearings and recognize the direction I was going. I am not doing any tours this time because I have done all of them when I used to visit Beijing for business. So, I am turning my focus on the hotels and restaurants to find the right mix for our trip next year.

Shanghai - by David Kao
Well, flying into the international Pudong airport in Shanghai was not a really enjoyable experience! I did it to myself the night before, by wining and dining with some of my friends well into the morning. Must remember not to do this again!
I decided to try the 'Maglev' which is a magnetically elevated train that has a top speed of 430 kph (258 mph!) taking the 40 km (24 miles) trip in a mere 9 mins! It was really impressive! Not having any experience traveling at over 200 mph in a train, I was a bit anxious! The trip is definitely too short but it does bring you to the connecting station which is very close to town. I think this is highly recommendable and a unique experience for all!

Crystal Ball John
John’s been travelling since he was 14 (he wont tell us how long ago that was), “it all began when my parents moved from England to New Zealand and we spent 2 months on a boat getting there – Caribbean, Panama, Galapagos and the South Pacific, I was hooked and have been ever since”.
He went to school and studied economics (“the only way my Mother would give me any peace”) but the call of living an independent life as an artist was strong and for 20 years he traveled and lived as a potter, showing his work in the U S (NYC, Boston, San Francisco and Santa Fe), Australia, Fr Polynesia and finally Mexico. It was in Mexico that he found his place and for many years, was able to combine artisan experience, with his training in economics, to work with “grass roots” development
projects in rural Mexico and Guatemala.
“This is where I discovered the incredible diversity of the Region and the beauty of its People”. It was wanting to share this, to offer visitors an insight into the fabulous world that is Mexico and Central America, which led him to the Travel Business.
In 2005 he started Nomad Travel, an incoming agency that works with selected operators and travel agents, to develop and run unique and “people sensitive” tours.
“We want our Guests to share a world and lifestyle which is totally different and which will serve to enrich their personal experience. And we want them to come back again and again saying “show
me more, show me more!”
